About Us Smartpine is made by the Smart people at Smart Timber. Our family owned business has been supplying the Perth timber market since 1992. Our commitment to introducing new technology to WA has established ourselves as one of the most versatile timber re-manufactuerers in WA. The success of the business has now seen it transition to the second generation of the Smart family. Smart Timber has strong values. And these are more than just lip-service. We pride ourselves on our industry leading commitment to environmental responsibility, and to active involvement in our local community. We employ local staff and are committed to the training of Western Australians through apprenticeships and traineeships, whereever possible. We do not sell any tropical hardwood, such as Batu, Balau or Kapur. (Even though it costs us not to) We only process locally-grown plantation pine in our premier product, Smartpine. We support local community organisations. We use exclusively Western Australian plantation-grown pine as our feedstock, helping to protect timber traditionally used in WA (such as native Jarrah or Karri) for enjoyment by the community. We have a holistic perspective of minimizing our environmental impact: from responsible sourcing of our timber from plantations, saving timber off-cuts & shorts from wood chipping, minimising the waste we produce and ensuring waste is recycled into useful products for our community. Our premier product, Smartpine was developed to recycle an unwanted by-product of our industry - short lengths of good quality timber. With the commissioning of our advanced manufacturing line we are able to produce high quality and reliable timber product for the Perth timber market. Smartpine has been in development since 2004 and is completely manufactured at our Kewdale premises. Ongoing testing of our product ensures that it is of consistent high quality. In 2008 this enabled Smartpine to achieve a structural grading of F8, indicating that in the most cases Smartpine is superior in strength to standard structural pine available in the market. Where are we? Our office, displays and factory are located at: 95 Leach Hwy Kewdale (close to Abernethy Rd) Want to place an order? We accept orders via phone, fax, through our website or in person at our Kewdale premises. Please note we require a deposit before proceeding with any order with full payment due prior to delivery.
